My stay at Cincinnati, as well as the language training, has been a positively outstanding experience I’d recommend to everyone.  ‘Language Immersion’ combined with the one-on-one approach of Cincilingua is probably the most effective way to learn language, both for students at square one and for people wanting to improve their foreign language skills and vocabulary.  Also, I really enjoyed the city of Cincinnati during the morning, lunch, and afternoon breaks, and after class.  There are so many places to visit, safe and clean streets, a perfect balance of old and modern buildings, the beauty of the river, the parks, the bridges and all those pubs and restaurants on the riverside.

Yes! Since our founding in 1972, Cincilingua has specialized in English as a Second Language (ESL) and Business English training. You can also combine general and business English in one program.

The Live & Learn in Person Program includes 35 hours of private instruction per week as well as books and materials used in class.

Once you have decided to study at Cincilingua, simply complete our Application Form and email or fax it to us or complete your purchase online.  We will schedule your classes and send you an official confirmation by email.  If paying via the application form, full payment is required two weeks prior to arrival.

Cincilingua accepts all major credit and debit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express,  Discover, JCB, and Diners Club.  We also accept payment through PayPal or by wire or bank transfer.  You may securely enroll online with these payment options.

Cincilingua does not have classes divided by levels. You can study with us at any level of English—because you are our starting point. Our classes are all about you, customized and driven by your language learning needs, not a set “cast in stone” curriculum.

About one week prior to your arrival for your Live and Learn in Person English course, you will be sent a link to our Online Placement Test. Based on the results of this test, we will plan for your individual course. Flexibility is a Cincilingua hallmark. The design of your course will be refined after your instructor has conducted an oral evaluation on your first day of class.

It takes time to develop fluency in a second language, and the more time you have to be immersed in the language and culture the better. We will present material at the fastest pace possible, always ensuring that you are incorporating the new material into your usage as you work through your course.  Our typical program is 2 – 4 weeks or longer.

As long as we have prior notice, it is no problem to postpone or change the date for your course. You can also completely cancel your course for a cancellation fee.

Yes. You can use your B visa (Visitor Visa). Enrollment in a short course of study as offered by Cincilingua is permitted on a B-1 or B-2 visa.

Arrival and Accomodations

You will fly into the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (airport code CVG)—ranked as the top airport in the United States in a survey of international travelers. Most major airlines fly into or have good connections into Cincinnati. Common connecting cities are Miami, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston and Dallas.

Cincilingua has negotiated a discount rate at the Hampton Inn & Suites Cincinnati/Kenwood location.   The hotel is located at 2000 Ronald Reagan Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45236.  Telephone 513.794.0700

Book your hotel reservations at the Hampton Inn & Suites Cincinnati/Kenwood at a discounted rate through this link.

The airport is about 25 miles, or 35 minutes, away from the Hampton Inn & Suites in Kenwood, Ohio.  You can take a taxi, Uber, or Lyft from the airport; they are available curbside exiting baggage claim. The one-way fare should be approximately $55.00.

Your teacher will meet you in the lobby of your hotel at 9:00 AM on the first day of your program.

Most students prefer not to rent a car.  You will be within walking distance of a large Mall and there are many restaurants in the area to choose from also.  Most students use Uber if they go to other areas of the city or use the bus system.

However, if you ever want to explore areas out of the city, car rental services are available.  Costs are approximately $85.00 per weekend plus insurance.

No, we do not offer any homestay options (where you would live with a family). In our many years of experience, we have found that this is not very successful or comfortable for adults and it is not conducive to their studies. In addition, transportation to and from school can be logistically difficult, time-consuming and costly.

Cincilingua Instruction

Live & Learn in Person classes are held 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. & 12:30 p.m. to
4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, for a total of 35 hours per week.  There is
a 30 minute lunch break between the two classes when the student is on his/her
own.  Our tried and tested method will continue with a new dynamic approach.
Students will no longer stay in the classroom 7 hours per day, instead there
will be a morning of focused class time in a designated area of the hotel we
selected because it is located in a favorite student hotspot of the city.
Students will have a 30 minute break to eat lunch and do whatever they need to
do (answer texts, make phone calls, etc…) After the lunch break students will
have the afternoon class in which they will be able to have focused class or
explore the areas of the city on the excursion lists that interest them with
their teacher.

All of Cincilingua’s instructors are native speakers, college graduates in various fields and have been trained in our teaching method.

Following students’ on-site sessions here in Cincinnati, we do offer distance learning using Skype technology. Our students find that it refreshes and reinforces their in-person learning and helps them move on to the next step in their language fluency journey.

Yes, all materials used in class are included in the price. Materials consist of books, pamphlets, handouts, digital workbooks and other helpful resources.

You will be assigned a variety of homework each evening, depending on your level and needs. You can expect up to about three hours of homework. It is an important part of your course, used to reinforce the concepts covered earlier that day. Completing your homework each night allows you to progress faster the following day.  But don’t worry, not all homework consists of grammar exercises!  You may be asked to write some typical emails or even watch a TV show for listening comprehension.

Yes, at the end of your course, you will receive a Certificate of Accomplishment from Cincilingua.

Yes, you will also receive a Progress Report that details your language level upon arrival, level upon departure, concepts covered, materials used, areas of strength and weakness and recommendations for continued study.
